About Our Company

Nobody should have to experience a loved one locked up by ICE for wanting an opportunity to a better life for themselves or for their family. If you’re feeling scared, lost and stressed, not to worry. G&G has over 71 years of experience helping loved one being reunited from Immigration custody. Place your trust in us and let your worries go away.

Gonzales & Gonzales Bonds and Insurance Agency, Inc. (G&G) was founded in 1950 by two brothers, Raul and Carl. The business was started to help new noncitizens legally enter the United States by posting public charge bonds. G&G has posted bonds for noncitizens from almost every country in the world and has a reputation as one of the leading immigration bond companies in the nation.

In 1984, Raul’s son (Raul the II) joined the firm a full-time basis, after having assisted part-time since high school. Carl retired from the firm the following year, the third generation has slowly transitioned into the business with Raul III working summers during his college years. In 2003 Raul III joined the firm on a full-time basis.

Originally, G&G was a bonding company only local to the Los Angeles, California area. The firm slowly expanded to a statewide basis and then grew in to a regional (West Coast) company. G&G has been reuniting families throughout the United States and Puerto Rico since 2007.

G&G was the principal in the Amwest v. Reno (1993) litigation. The result of this lawsuit has been characterized by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) as “We believe these new policies will improve the noncitizen appearance rate and the bonding process.” Many of these new policies are incorporated into the “Immigration Bond” form (DHS I-352).

If you have been convicted of a crime or misdemeanor, your defense attorney may ask the judge to suspend your sentence or grant probation. Probation gives you the opportunity to serve your sentence while in prison, also known as conditional release. This allows you to stay in prison or prison out of prison. They can be suspended for up to three to five years.

Once you have completed your probation, you will be able to revoke your guilty plea. Probation is for people with a felony conviction. It is also known as formal parole or supervised probation. You will be checked in with your assigned probation officer.

Probation for misdemeanors is also called informal probation. They do not need to be supervised by a probation officer. One of the most common conditions for parole is travel restrictions. You may not leave your district while you are on probation. You must call the probation officer before leaving.

Travel restrictions may apply to removals. People on probation cannot change residence without notifying their probation officer. Leaving the county for any reason without a travel permit violates probation requirements. The probation can be revoked and the defendant sent to prison. An arrest warrant may also be issued.

If prosecutors discover that you have violated your travel restrictions, they can file a motion to revoke your probation. You need the prior permission of officials to move, which will take you to another county. The court will review your probation violation and issue an arrest warrant. After your arrest, you will be held in the county jail pending a revocation hearing.

This is the lowest burden of proof. The prosecutor must prove with evidence that the violation of the probation conditions occurred. A lawyer will be present at the hearing.

If the judge rules that there are no violations, you will be released and probation will continue. The revocation of probation is a harsher penalty imposed after a deferred sentence. If the judge decides there are violations, he can impose stricter probation conditions or send the defendant to prison.

If a defendant is deprived of probation, he goes to prison. However, his or her probation does not count towards the sentence. In this case, the sentence is deferred until the completion of probation.
